A platform company that also makes games
Playtech, founded in 1999, is better understood as infrastructure than as a slot studio. Alongside its games it supplies full platform systems, live casino studios and sports betting technology to operators, which means an operator's relationship with it often covers the account, wallet and reporting layers rather than just a folder of titles in the lobby.
That breadth explains a good deal about the catalogue. Platform suppliers tend to build ranges that fill out a whole casino floor — table games in many variants, jackpot families, live tables — rather than chasing a signature look. The games serve the completeness of the offering, and an operator running Playtech infrastructure will usually carry a broad slice of them.
Linked jackpots and a deep table range
The Age of the Gods series, which our 2015 entry at 95.02% belongs to, links progressive jackpots across a family of Greek-mythology-themed slots and table games. The shared pool is the point: individual games contribute to and draw from the same jackpots, and the below-average base return on the slot is part of what funds them. It is the same trade familiar from any linked jackpot design.
On the table side, Three Card Poker from 2010 represents a range that is among the deepest in the industry, with multiple variants of blackjack, roulette and poker. Table games carry a house edge determined by the rules and the paytable rather than a published RTP figure, which is why no return is listed for it. Slots and tables are both first-class here.
Regulation and a shorter list of casinos
Playtech holds Malta Gaming Authority and UK Gambling Commission licences, and its products are licensed and audited across most regulated gaming markets. Because the company supplies platform systems as well as games, the regulatory burden reaches further than game certification: the account, wallet and reporting components an operator runs are themselves subject to supervision in those jurisdictions.
Six of the casinos in our list carry Playtech content, the shortest list among the suppliers in this group — and the character of it is worth noting, since it leans towards established multi-product operators rather than newer crypto-facing sites. That pattern follows from the platform business: adoption tends to come with a wider commercial arrangement, not a single content deal.
